Metaphor in a Museum
I walk. The walls are bare.
The art is dull,
absorbing my blank stare.
Until I saw the picture
that resonated within my skull
With brush strokes and fury
he was created,
with desperation he is dreary.
Confused.
Pained.
Dying.
STOP
He is beautiful.
The museum is now closed.
Audience: People who have seen the painting. Also hipsters.
Speaker: A bored man wandering an art gallery who is suddenly profoundly touched.
Theme: Real beauty in life can not always be appreciated immediately, and it may take time to grow upon the person seeking to experience it. Beauty does not last forever, and should be cherished to the best of one's ability. Beauty, even in material objects in not always aesthetic, it is often much deeper than that.
